Hazel
After an unwanted sexual encounter happens, you shouldn’t have to spend hours figuring out where to go, who to call, or how to explain it — again — to yet another stranger. Hazel exists because survivors deserve better than that. One platform. All the help. Yours to use however and whenever you want.
You built this. Seriously.
We didn’t design Hazel in the boardroom. We built it with people like you — shaping every feature, pushing back on what didn’t feel right, and making sure the platform actually reflects what survivors need. If something on this site feels like it gets you, that’s because people like you made it that way.
- Your voices shaped features,

- Your ideas are present on every page,
- You helped us build a community!
Why Hazel Exists
Here’s what nobody talks about: after an unwanted sexual encounter you’re supposed to get help. But finding that help usually means endless googling, going to an ER, deciding whether to call the police, scheduling a counselor somewhere else, figuring out if you need a lawyer, and retelling what happened — in detail — to a bunch of strangers along the way.
Hazel’s founders spent years working with survivors as nurses, as lawyers, as advocates. They kept seeing the same thing: people who had already been through something terrible, now forced to navigate a maze of disconnected systems, retelling their story at every appointment. And they kept hearing the same thing from survivors: that the process of getting help sometimes felt as traumatizing as what had happened to them.
Hazel makes it easy to get help.
Here’s how Hazel actually helps
- We connect you to our network of experts. Local nurses, counselors, lawyers, advocates — all accessible through your personal Hazel profile, not five different websites.
- We leverage technology. Every feature — from how you log in to how you share your records — was designed with your safety and convenience in mind.
- We listen to you. You’re the expert of your experience. You decide what help you want, when you want it.
What We Do
- We connect a network of service providers— partnering with local agencies to provide services directly through your Hazel account.
- We leverage technology— incorporating trauma-informed features that make it safe, convenient for you to use.
- We listen to you— restoring control to you, as the expert in what you’ve been through and what you need.

AboutHazel
The founders of Hazel worked for years in the medical and legal fields. In their work with survivors of rape, sexual assault, and sexual violence, they saw firsthand the traumatic experiences victims suffered, not only from their assailants but also from struggling with the complicated and disjointed systems after. Survivors reported that retelling and reliving their experiences was nearly as traumatizing as the assault itself. The founders came together to design a system that was simple, unified, and most of all, kind.
Hazel prioritizes ease of use. Rather than survivors searching for services, we gather the available services here. Hazel prioritizes comfort and care. Through sharing Hazel account records, survivors can communicate everything about their encounter with a single click.
